Parts Manager
Job Type: Full-time
Location: Coatbridge (Scotland) or Sittingbourne (Kent)
Key responsibilities and duties for this position:
-Forecasts goals and objectives for the department and strives to meet them
-Hires, trains, motivates and monitors the performance of all parts department staff
-Maintains a balanced inventory consistent with the requirements of the service department, body shop, wholesale accounts and public
-Responsible for parts pricing and monitoring local competition to ensure pricing stays competitive
-Establishes individual parts inventory levels and balances them for maximum turnover
-Ensures that parts inventory turns (established#) times per year
-Monitors and adjusts inventory to minimise ageing stock
-Ensures that warehouse meets and maintains HQ policies
-Supervises SOP and inventory for new models
-Sets and enforces a policy on the special ordering of parts ensuring customer expectations are met
-Analysis of sales to both dealers and customers on a monthly basis
-Develops and maintains relationships with the dealer network
-Ensures that the same high-quality level of service provided to all customers
-Works with the service manager to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobs and warranty
-Attends managers meetings and holds daily department meetings
-Works with the parts & warehouse team to improve storage layout and revises as needed for maximum effectiveness
-Monitors parts department employee overtime records
-Coordinates a prompt, efficient and timely flow of paperwork
-Monitors daily reports / KPI’s to ensure sales and dispatch productivity
-Develops sales promotions
-Takes advantage of all manufacturers’ inventory co-op advertising
-Handles customer complaints immediately and according to the dealership’s guidelines
-Ensures that all dealership purchases are properly accounted for before payment is made
-Enforces safety requirements, including but not limited to forklift training and operation, processing of MSDS sheets on all products carried and OSHA Right-to-Know
-Maintains professional appearance of staff and department to ensure uniform and general housekeeping is in adhered to
-Other duties as assigned
What we expect from you:
– Solid experience in fast-paced environment, familiar with heavy machinery manufacturing industry. Previously worked in parts, and warehouse environment.
– Excellent customer service and communication skills.
– Strong leadership and team management skills.
– Flexible attitude dealing with changes in demand, tasks, and processes.
– Strong attention to detail.
– Computer literate.
– Can work on own initiative, be proactive and manage customers and workload with little intervention from the management team.
– Good time management and prioritisation skills.
